I would not recommend Dr. Turowski. My son was admitted to the hospital and he was the Dr. assigned to him. He was supposed to check if my son had Crohns. He wouldn't due a colonoscopy because he said he was "old school:and ordered a Barium Enema instead, which made no sense as my understanding of the best way to determine Crohn's is to retreive samples for pathology to review.. To prepare for the this test is the same as a colonoscopy and so my son spent all night cleaning himself out. When he got to radiology, he found out that the radiologist and Dr. Turoski changed the orders and he ended up having a test where he had to drink the barium but ultimately would not have needed to drink the prep needed for a colonoscopy. He spent all night drinking ,getting nauseous and not getting any sleep because he was in the bathroom. It was all for NOTHING. When he finally spoke to Dr. Turowski, he said the radiologist wouldn't do the test and his hands were tied. The doctor stated that if he questioned the radiologist he would have been written up. He blamed the way hospitals were run instead of standing up for his patient. I argued with him and he then decided to do the colonoscopy the next day. That would've meant another day in the hospital and going through the prep two nights in a row. After that experience, and not trusting that Dr. Turowski had his best interest at heart, my son was checked out of the hospital that day. Unfortunately, we've had many dealings with the Cleveland Clinic and NEVER have had an experience where a Dr. let a radiologist decide what's best for their patient.
